The parents named their daughter Miley, in hopes to see her achieve a lot. Miley was shortened from Smiley as a young girl that she was awarded by being jovial. Her paternal grandpa was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her education in Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. Cyrus, along with her parents, relocated to Toronto Canada at the age of 8 after she was 8. The father of Cyrus, Billy Ray played a character on the TV series Doc. Cyrus began her acting career during that time. Her father played her in Doc (2001). In addition, Cyrus played an appearance in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). Cyrus was cast in 2005 to be the lead of the Disney TV show Hannah Montana, which is an edgy teenager living in a double life. Again, her father joined her on screen. The show's success led to it was a time of hit songs as well as sold-out tours and sales for merchandise. Cyrus rapidly became a cult figure among teenagers. Cyrus shifted into new roles after the success and the fame in Hannah Montana 2006. She played Ronnie Miller, alongside Demi Mood as Demi Mood in The Last Song in 2010 and Lola along with Demi in LOL in 2012.
